The Finance Department manages the financial resources of the City, prepares the budget and financial statements, oversees the bid process, bond issues, purchasing, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), risk management, surplus property and the administrative operations for Albany Municipal Court.

Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR)
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is a detailed financial report for a government entity, prepared to meet the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements and recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) through its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program. The ACFR goes beyond minimum reporting requirements to provide a complete picture of the government's financial activities, featuring an introductory section, a detailed financial section with independently audited statements, and a statistical section with trend data. The ACFR is usually completed by the end of each calendar year.
