Due to community health concerns and precautions related to the COVID-19 virus, until further notice, the City of Albany will not disconnect water service for nonpayment of City of Albany utility bills or failure to test backflow prevention devices. Customers are still responsible for their water, sewer, and stormwater charges that are due now and that accrue during this temporary suspension. If possible, customers should continue to pay their bill.
The City of Albany offers payment arrangements for customers who cannot pay their utility bill. If you are having a financial hardship and would like to discuss alternative payment options, please contact the Utility Billing office at 541-917-7547.
COVID-19 precautions mean that City Hall is not accessible to the general public. Customers who would like to pay their City of Albany utility bill are encouraged to make electronic payments when possible. Online payment information is available on the City’s website at ub.cityofalbany.net. Other options to make a payment without visiting City Hall are to send the payment by mail, use the drop box located on the east side of Albany City Hall, or call Utility Billing at 541-917-7547.
Albany water customers with backflow prevention devices that are due for annual inspection and testing will still be receiving notices that the testing is now due. Customers should make arrangements to have their devices tested as soon as practical.
